A Little Bit of Lykke Li

She has great music. She's pretty. And on top of all, she's swedish. To me, lykke li is the best thing that hails from sweden other than those delish meatballs you get from ikea or ikea itself. Check out the hilarious interview with canadian douchebag nardwuar below.

Vans Vault Eco Era LX

Three great things about this release - (1) its a vans classic era (2) its eco-friendly and (3) the look is extra fresh. The shoe’s upper sole features a Maharam-created sustainable material in two-toned fashion. On top of that, the materials are easily recyclable down the line at the end of the shoe’s life.

I know - yet another first from the world's best sneaker company.

Black People Make Things Look Cool

I've heard a lot of cool things about hockey but personally i've - never liked it.. never been a fan.. never fully watched a game (other than those annoying short clips on sports center in between football and basketball highlights). Of all sports, hockey is the least attractive to black people (or in this case, to all other minorities). That's a fact. But as to anything in this world - CHANGE - can make all the difference. I saw this clip of rising hockey star Wayne Simmonds and i said to myself, "Ha".

Hockey is cool.

The Battle of LA

.. (now many times have you heard that, huh?).. After weeks of insane dancing and stellar showcase of talent, Beat Freaks and Quest Crew remain - and from the looks of tonight's episode, next week's season finale is gonna be HUGE. Both crews are locally from la and both are truly a-ma-zing.. which makes it twice as hard for us to pick a clear cut winner. In that case, i guess it all boils down to one final question.. which color do you like better - pink or purple?

Make sure to tune in next week's finale (March 5, 10pm PT) to find out who's going to be america's next best dance crew.

Shameless Plugs

Big Luis aka "the postman" (different from ma' bro), has been ma' personal barber for a year now. Pretty dope and dedicated with his craft, this dude can hook you up with fades, tapering, line-ups and even custom head art. Just got a mini-fo'hawk myself and it looks sick. His hq is in whittier but just call the number below for more details.

FYI - contact number is 646.406.7602

Welcome To Heartbreak

This is mr. west's newest video, off the record-breaking album "808s and heartbreaks". As usual, the video's dope but what makes it even more overwhelming is the collaboration with hiphop superstar-in-the-making, KiD CuDi. Click here to check out his blog.

Empty Apartment

Being in campus on a weekend (a first) felt really weird, probably 'coz i've never imagined that place to be that abandoned. It was cool to not work on a weekend (whew) but then again i figured if i still can't watch my saturday morning cartoons then its kinda pointless (ha).

Who Said They're Wack?

When i heard these fools (the lonely island) released an album (incredibad), i was like "daaaaaym, fo' reel?". When i saw this video and heard the rest of the tracks, i was like "daaaaaym, fo' sho!". Hilarious.

No Write or Wrong

For some reason, i've always been fond of expressive writing. Obviously not one of the great ones out there, but i think just good enough to maintain a good audience for this blog. I know that sometimes materials for posts are weak but just to remind you all - i do have a semi-boring life, you know. I blog about anything under the sun, as long i enjoy writing about it. If i haven't thanked people enough for the support.. thanks again. More to come, i hope.

DESERT SHOWDOWN

Yes, yes, yes. The circus is back in AZ. The after-thought of an all-star game in Phoenix still lingers in recent memory - as then-superb Mitch Richmond torched the east en-route to a 139-112 victory back in '95.

I guess history does repeat itself. This year's version wasn't so different from 14 years ago - same venue, same result. Co-MVPs Shaq and Kobe headlined the west's convincing 146-119 drubbing of LeBron's east squad.

There were a ton of great moments in Phoenix this year and here's just some of 'em..

FROM A TO B

Every (school) day - "the walk" from parking lot A to the business building.. and back.. is a b*tch. That's the only thing I hate about this semester. Everythin' else is just fine. Pretty much.

SOME THINGS NEVER GET OLD

Was just flippin' thru some channels and I happen to see this... had to see it. Again. Now I'm prepped for this summer's part two. ARE YOU?

WEEZY x ESPN

... when the two most important things in my life collide.. MUSIC and SPORTS. Real nice. Also, notice the blatant disregard of the apparent "point system" of the show just 'coz its Lil Wayne himself - still a beast, even on sports.

COLDEST STORY EVER TOLD

It's been a wet, un-CA-like weekend so far. Still, the rain and thunderstorms didn't stopped me from having a good, fun weekend with friends. (Happy "v-day", lulu).

FAAAAN-TASTIC!

Another creative concept by the guys from New Era.. this time inspired by the characters of the famous Marvel Comic. Pretty cool I think.. too bad these are available only in Europe.

TOUGH ENOUGH

Oh this was definitely a sweet one. Lakers 110-109 Celtics.

ASIAN INVASION

It's funny how I always say that Flips aren't really Asians... and we still do groceries in stores like this. Oh well...

PEPSUBER

I've always thought SB ads are the cheesiest, most overly-priced marketing mediums of all but this year, for some reason, it worked for me. This Pepsi ad really pried my attention away from the oooh-sooo good 6-layer dip that I really like. MacGruber!

ONE TOUGH CUSTOMER

What is it about Madison Square Garden and great NBA players? LeBron James, 50 points. Michael Jordan, 55. Bernard King, 60. Kobe? 61. Yep, that just happened. Lakers win again 126-117 against the Knicks.

SBXLIII

Apart from the crazy parties and the sick multi-million dollar ads, the best thing about this year's SuperBowl is the simply the game itself. The ol' fashioned, slugfest between Pittsburgh and Arizona was definitely an instant classic. The only that would've been better is that if it was the Chargers playing for the title. Whatever.

Final score: Steelers 27-23 Cardinals.
