Arguably, one of the best things about southern cal is the the rich hispanic culture that surrounds it. Arguably, one of the best things about the hispanic culture is the relatively strong mexican influence that's present almost every corner. But fersure no doubt, one of the best things about the mexican influence here is the authentic, 100-percent-guaranteed-will-hit-the-spot tacos. Mmmm.. me gusta.

Awakening of the Giant

Oh man... there's definitely a first time for everything. Earlier today after work, i became a witness more so a victim. There it was - ma' beloved truck covered in toilet paper (well, receipt paper actually). To all those who may not know, TP'ing or toilet papering is "an act of mischief or vandalism" usually done after a high school homecoming football game or graduation or by some crazy, lunatic ex-gf or, like in this case a solid, "right-back-at-cha" prank.

Too bad i don't have pictures tho.. guess i was just too pissed to take one at that time. But in all honesty, it was a good funny prank - something to talk about for years to come. I like it. I enjoyed it as much as other people who saw my agony.

To whoever did that, thanks. Just so you know, I KNOW WHO YOU (all) ARE.

So the next question is: "is payback gonna be a bitch?"

Answer: "F*ck yeah"

March 12, 2009 - This movie kicked ass, no doubt. I just don't get all the hating goin' on with "the" sex scene. I mean, c'mon people.. aren't we adults enough to think that that subplot was a crucial scene, which explains the overall content of the movie? So grow up please. Geez..

Flashback #3: "A Freed Mind"

March 6, 2009 - Hip hop's positive influence in the world is unquestionable, as seen in major parts such as europe, south america and here in the US. But gettin' the message across overseas, on to asia was rather a difficult task simply because it challenged the traditional values of the asian realm. A special case was the philippines. Back then in manila, hip hop was seen as a rebelious negative act. Fortunately, one "homie" was bound to bring change..

Francis M became the pioneer of filipino rap thru his works that preached positive messages of nationalism, unity, (respect for) women and family. He devoted his life to his craft - the art of hip hop and rap - and made the difference that mattered. His unfortunate, untimely passing only proves that nothing in this life is permanent and that his existence is a concrete proof that a man with ideas of change can be the necessary difference.

You will be missed, fsho man.

What up??? Damn. It has definitely been a while since i last blogged here - almost 3 weeks ago. YES, this blog is still active, FYI. I've just been busy (a whole lot) lately with all the birthday parties, trips, long drives, night outs with friends, more birthday celebrations.. (whew) just to name a few. The way things are looking, this is probably the worst month - as far as entries - ever. But luckily i've been slowly gettin' back a good grasp of everything so for the next few days things should be back to "normal blogging fun" once again.

Ahhh, the semi-boring life continues..

Decent Proposals

Comin' up with the "perfect" birthday present is typically a hard task to do. It is a measure of how much you know (love) that person, and sometimes, the wrong gift may deliver the wrong message.. Now, how many times that has happened, huh? Huh? So... i took the liberty and time away from my semi-boring life to make a list and help out potential gift-givers out there.
