A New Endeavor

Art comes in various forms. And in this techno-era known as the 21st century, it has evolved into something more than just a canvas, a haiku or a sculpture. I consider myself an unconventional artist who creates art in unconventional ways, known to us as multimedia. Photography, blog writing, social networking and now a new found passion: film making. As a videographer, i am as amateur and experience-less as it gets, yet i keep it spontaneous by filming anything i desire regardless of what others' opinions. Despite the fact that i'm an iPhone-user (have been for almost 2 years now), i still couldn't help but peek.. err.. umm, stare at the new blackberry bold 9000. Aside from its unexpected october 18th release, the fresh looking, unconventional bb white color is what really got my attention. This new look simply adds a new sleek, classy, sophisticated dimension to this entrepreneur-must-have gadget. .. which entirely makes it harder to pick one above the other. So for now, i'd have to go (slightly) with the iPhone. Well at least up to when my stupid 2-year contract expires, then i can maybe (just maybe) switch over to other side. Let's see how that goes..

A: .. a state in which a person is generally lethargic, lazy and very full from eating a large meal. A large meal shall be defined as meal containing high amounts of carbohydrates. When blood goes to the abdomen to help digest and break down the excessive amount food, it causes deprivation of oxygen to the brain; a direct common cause of comatose; hence the term "food coma".

All Thai-ed Up

Local food spots serving "authentic" cuisine is hard to come by with, especially in these neck of the woods. Majority of business owners claim to offer THE best in asian, mexican or mediterranean cooking but little do we know that what they serve is miles away from even what seems to be the closest as it gets. True.. with the exception of one.

Bangkok Spice have been serving authentic thai food up in the hills of anaheim since 2003. Contrary to such immitations, this place offers a wide array of thai cuisine from pad thais to tom yung goong soups (an all time fave of mine). I've been a patron of BP for a good year or so now and trust me when i say this.. with the "rude-asian-like-approach" of the owners and longer (than usual) wait time, the food is the ONLY reason why this place is a staple food source of mine. Yes, it's that good. No, no.. awesome is the word to describe it.

Friendship Games 09 x U.L.A.M

Come check out the U.L.A.M booth at the 24th annual friendship games this coming saturday, october 24th from 7am to 5pm on the engineering and computer science lawn at cal state fullerton. We're selling stuff from both the first line (10 each; 20 for 3) and the second line (tee 15; crewneck 40). Oh and have i mentioned admission is FREE? .. so there's no real reason to miss this. Seriously. Just go. GO.

Gauntlet served.. and failed

Last friday after a hot and long day in los angeles, me and bro decided to check out el tepeyac cafe, a local neighborood hotspot located in a small town east of downtown los angeles. This place is definitely better than advertised.. more so, legendary. We had no idea what and where this place was until we saw it featured in an episode of travel channel's man v food show (uh huh).. so we told ourselves, we had to be there. Their home style, mexican cuisine creations are as authentic as it gets and their house specialty is the "manuel special" - a 5 pound wet burrito made of chile verde, rice, beans, guacamole and cheese. This gigante of a burrito feeds up to four people but we decided to give at crack on a 2-on-1 approach. .. after a few hours, we couldn't even get up our seats and there's still about 1/3 of the plate left. In the end, we felt that taking on this monster burrito is suicide and we ain't that crazy (yet).. as we raised the white flag, the server handed us a to-go box and a plastic bag..

I know.. what a shame.

After six years living here in sunny california.. alas.. i've found myself within the walls of one of los angeles' most sought-after comfort food restaurants known as "roscoe's chicken and waffle". This legendary hotspot is renowned for its local southern style ambiance and of course, its popularized chicken and waffle combo. I have heard rumors, no.. stories, no.. folk tales about how good the food is at roscoe's before but there's nothing like proving the myth yourself. In plain words my friend, roscoe's is as good if not better than advertised.

NO RESERVATIONS by that jerk-wad, anthony bourdain. and.. BIZARRE FOOD with exotic cuisine extraordinaire andrew zimmern.. an absolute no brainer pick for me."

Adding the title of author to his already accomplished resume, the so called "jerk" documents the success of his Glow In The Dark tour in hard cover book covering all facets of his on and off stage.
